About the Project

The goal / purpose is to create a basic repository of citizens biographic data that can then be used as the basic infrastructure to allow digital services to be developed to provide major benefits to both citizens and the government.

The new database application will allow for Civil Registry to digitize their records and store the metadata information that is recorded in their offices such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces etc. The existing Registry books that store the records will be scanned and archived for referencing purposes.

With the digitization of the civil registry records, digital services could be developed for citizens to access their own personal records through a front facing web portal to retrieve their own birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificate online.

The Civil Registry Digital Application will be a software application designed to facilitate the management and access of civil registration records and services online. Overall, the Civil Registry Digital Application aims to streamline the civil registration process, improve efficiency, enhance accessibility, and provide a more convenient and user-friendly experience for citizens interacting with the civil registry system.

Some of the major key features and functionalities that the Civil Registry Digital Application will include:
1. Online Registration: Users will be able to fill out and submit civil registration forms online, such as birth registration, marriage registration, and death registration.
2. Document Upload: Users will be able to  upload supporting documents, such as identification cards, birth certificates, and marriage certificates, digitally to complete the registration process.
3. Archival Data: Admins will be able to digitize and archive stored records from the Civil Registry books.
4. Status Tracking: Users will be able to track the status of their registration applications online and receive notifications about the progress.
5. Search and Retrieval: The application will allow users to search for and retrieve civil registration records, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates, digitally.
6. Payment Gateway: Users will be able to  make online payments for registration services, such as obtaining certified copies of documents or requesting amendments to records.
7. Data Security: The application will ensure the security and privacy of personal data by implementing encryption, access controls, and other security measures to protect sensitive information.
8. Multi-language Support: The application will support multiple languages to cater to a diverse user base and ensure accessibility for all users.
