September 01, 2023 – Minister of Information, Communications & Technology (ICT), the Hon. Konris Maynard, will deliver the keynote address at ‘the 26th Regional Meeting of the Caribbean Network Operators Group, CaribNOG, at the St Kitts Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay on Monday 11 September 2023.
The Minister will be speaking on the topic “Achieving Digital Independence”, which is also the theme of the two-day event being organized by CaribNOG in collaboration with the American Registry for Internet Numbers, ARIN.

This gathering of industry experts, professionals, and stakeholders from across the Caribbean region is a testament to our commitment to fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the ICT sector.
The event, held twice yearly, brings together information and communications technology specialists, computer network engineers and telecommunication representatives from the Caribbean, Latin America and North America to discuss pressing issues in the domain of Internet technology, connectivity, and cybersecurity. It is widely considered to be one of the foremost regional conferences for persons in the field of computer technology and networking.
After his keynote address, the minister is expected to interact with attendees and have a dialogue on building digital resilience locally and regionally.

Other featured speakers at the event include Mr. Rodney Taylor, Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union; Mr. Bevil Wooding, Director of Caribbean Affairs, ARIN; Dr. Kim Mallalieu, Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies; and Dr. Claire Craig, Director of Research at CaribNOG.
CaribNOG was established in 2007, with the support of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), to facilitate the development of the Internet networks and network engineering in the Caribbean region, primarily through building the relationship between the operators of the networks.
