The goal / purpose is to create a basic repository of citizens biographic data that can then be used as the basic infrastructure to allow digital services to be developed to provide major benefits to both citizens and the government.
The new database application will allow for CivilRegistry to digitize their records and store the metadata information that is recorded in their offices such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces etc. The existing Registry books that store the records will be scanned and archived for referencing purposes.
With the digitization of the civilregistry records, digital services could be developed for citizens to access their own personal records through a front facing web portal to retrieve their own birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificate online. The CivilRegistry Digital Application will be a software application designed to facilitate the management and access of civil registration records and services online.
